Ele's (air magic), Mesmers (degen or just disrupting them and not going for damage), Necromancers (degen + lifesteal) and Rits (channeling) have options that work though iron mist. Monks can't really deal much damage anyway, so they don't matter.
Paragons, Assassins, Warriors, Rangers and Dervishes however have to hunt down a shocking weapon mod. They don't drop often enough for you to find them on your own, and I've never seen one being sold in-game. Personally I just merchant the ones I find because they aren't worth trying to sell.
And I don't see why we should be forced to deal with the trading situation to buy an item we only need for a short part of the game. This would be different if we had an NPC trader for weapon mods, which is something that has been asked for regularly since I started playing GW.

I would /signed this, since it's irritated me on many occaisions, though I just make sure I pack a shocking weapon these days when I know that numpty will be around. Casters have other ways of getting round the problem as the post above me says.

I had absolutely no problems with earth/fire elementalists. I didn't even know Gadd had that until now. Still, it's one thing if an enemy's crippling you, but an ally?

Yeah lol, I didn't even know people are having problem with this. Most of the time he and Levia just stand about doing nothing anyway.
Ah poor Gladd, God rest his tiny little soul.

I'm sure I was running conjure lightning whenever I did that portion of the main quest (before they nerfed it *again*), so I'm sure I never noticed. Even still, he can only put it on 1 enemy every 30 seconds, I really can't see it being that big problem.
That said, it is also exceptionally dumb.
